Risk engineering

For most businesses, it is simply impossible to avoid risks. Especially with climate change, energy transition and sustainability requirements in construction determining the agenda. Companies face a growing range of risk issues, which creates challenges for both organisations and insurers. Integrated risk management is a crucial component of doing business. It allows you to turn strategic risks into opportunities. It helps companies minimise losses and control significant risks.

By having our risk engineers carry out a risk assessment, you will gain insight into how to protect your business continuity. Taking a proactive, preventive approach instead of a reactive one will not only save you time, money, and stress in running your business. But you are also less likely to suffer major damages, thus keeping business risks insurable. Moreover, this will result in premium savings in the long run. With the peace of mind that you are well protected by an appropriate fire and corporate liability insurance.

Why a risk assessment?

Meijers Risk Engineering helps reduce damages, leading to a reduction in both the number and severity of insurance claims. With a thorough risk inventory, our experts provide appropriate advice that suits your sector, whether it is construction or VvEs. For example, they analyse new construction projects, timber construction , EOS  (Energy Storage Systems), sprinkler and solar panel installations. With our many years of experience, we offer tailor-made and 'to the point' solutions.

With over 14 years of working experience as a Risk Engineer with a speciality in fire risks, I am well placed to advise our clients on measures that improve their risks to business continuity. Good expectation management and clear communication technically helps the client bring the risk  to a higher level. Because with a better risk profile, not only improves business continuity, but insurability as well. And this is beneficial in the long run. It motivates me enormously to use my knowledge to make a difference, especially for clients with risk improvement issues. I like taking on that challenge!

Eelko van den Hooff, Specialist Risk Engineering

After a career as a Claims Expert Fire, I made the switch to the Risk Engineering department at Meijers. With my experience in claim settlement, I understand better than anyone how insurers look at fire risks and what is needed to manage them. My motto is: ‘I used to come when things were black with soot, now I make sure they do not become black with soot.’ By being open-minded and taking clients into the world of risk prevention, I work with them to find ways to reduce risks and prevent damage.

I strongly believe in the importance of prevention and clear communication. At Meijers, we focus on improving risk profiles to achieve better terms and premiums. Clients choose us because of our expertise and experience in both handling claims and risk engineering, which enables us to guide them effectively in managing fire and property risks.
