I believe in good risk management. In the dynamic construction world, entrepreneurship is not without risk. I like to do business with my clients and to give advice on risk management is a pleasure, with insurance as the final piece. If unexpected damages occur, we unburden our clients. That’s when you should be there. How do I proceed? In a personal meeting I make an inventory of the activities, the associated risks and the company capacity keeping the future in mind. Such an evaluation is an ongoing process. We have in-house experts who join from the drawing board and a dedicated team specialized in construction. We like to arrange things quickly so that our clients can continue to do business with confidence – that gives me energy!

 In my career within the construction and installation industry I have built up a large network with construction connections, architects and installers. This industry is developing rapidly and is dynamic and future-oriented. That's what I like about it and where I feel, as the Dutch say “like a fish in water”. By working together with the entrepreneur, I think along with projects and we find solutions together. It can be an insurance solution, but doesn't necessarily have to be. The entrepreneurs’ drive is something I see reflected in the drive of Meijers’ employees. I am challenged by the impossible and I like to sink my teeth into things that seem impossible. We get things done by going the extra mile for our customers. Clients describe me as a driven and committed account manager who always puts the customer's interests first.

I’m a true specialist. I have been working in technical insurance for 35 years, insuring construction work in all its facets. This can be done on a descending and continuous basis. In addition, technical insurance also includes insurance for machines/installations, solar panels, soil remediation, etc. I get energized by clients, by solutions, from mediation. No construction project is the same and therefore it requires custom solutions for our clients. The point is that we are truly there for the client. That is our profession. For large or difficult projects, I always put insurer and client together. That breeds understanding and creates suitable solutions.

The best thing about my work? If I can be there when it happens. If there is a report of major damages, get me there quickly. Safety shoes and hard hat on. Having arrived as one of the first, my colleagues and I ensure that Meijers takes charge of the claims process. The project must continue. Direction and decisiveness is essential. Our goal is always to optimize representation in the interests of the client – by knowing what the next key steps are, by knowing your file thoroughly and by having a substantive discussion with insurers and experts. An incident has a lot of impact: financially, but also often emotionally.
