Thu 6 September 2018

On February 1st 2019, Daniel de Swaan, the current CFO, will succeed
Onno Paymans to
become the new CEO of Meijers Insurance Brokers.

Daniel de Swaan IIAfter Jaap Meijers, Daniel de Swaan will be the second generation to take charge of the successful family business. The founder’s son-in-law has worked at Meijers since 2005. Daniel de Swaan will use the transition period through to February 1st 2019 to, in consultation with all stakeholders, define the focal points of the next few years and align the management structure where required.

Daniel de Swaan on the announcement of his appointment: “In recent years, under the leadership of Onno Paymans, Meijers has continued to professionalise and grow. Our ambition is to expand the business in a rapidly changing environment. At the same time, we plan to nurture the unique character of our family business. I am keen to take up that challenge, along with my approximately 250 Meijers colleagues. Since the company was founded over 45 years ago, we have built a very strong ‘can do’ culture, in which our customers are our number one priority. The current technological developments can provide an important impetus for excellent service provision. That is one of the subjects that I will be discussing with customers, colleagues and insurers in the months ahead.”

Geert van Engelen, chairman of the Supervisory Board: “Meijers owes a great debt of gratitude to Onno Paymans. Under his leadership, substantial growth has been accomplished over the past seven years and material investments were made in the development of people and systems. It is our joint intention that Onno Paymans will continue to remain involved in Meijers in the future. The Supervisory Board is delighted that, in Daniel de Swaan, we have an excellent successor, with the zest to further extend the position of Meijers.”
